“When you sit right down in the middle of yourself, you’re gonna wanna have a comfortable chair.”

ANI DIFRANCO

I am a Registered Clinical Counsellor (RCC) in good standing (#20800) with the BC Association of Clinical Counsellors (BCACC).

About me

I have a Master of Clinical Counselling from City University of Seattle and have been working in Mental Wellness for the past 10 years in crisis intervention, parent support, and counselling capacities.

I believe that people make sense of their worlds in uniquely individual ways so there is no one-size-fits-all counselling modality. I believe that a main ingredient to therapeutic change is the successful creation of a safe, non-judgmental, and collaborative space where you can explore your sense of self and put words to difficult and confusing thoughts and emotions. Being human is complicated, messy, confusing, and sometimes wickedly overwhelming and simply “being kind to yourself” might feel impossible. It is my hope that counselling with me might help the impossible moments feel a little less overwhelming. I’d love to help you make the impossible feel possible.

I use an empathic approach to understand my clients and work with them to develop perspective, resilience, healing, and skill development that can be utilized long after therapy is complete. My eclectic approach draws from many modalities including narrative therapy, attachment theory and emotion focused therapy, feminist, and behavioural psychology.

I am constantly sourcing new frameworks and ideas to add to my counselling toolbox and strive to find the most effective approach for each individual I work with.
